Quilts In The Storque

http://www.etsy.com/storque/spotlight/etsy-finds-warming-up-piece-by-piece-2660/#comment-38330
Check out this great grouping of quilts in the storque. Danielle was nice enough to feature a beautiful collection of quilts at the perfect time of year. Just as we are winterizing our homes and cars, we need to think about our bedding and decor. Quilts not only make wonderful, warm blankets to curl up under, but they look great on our tables and on our walls.
So check out the article and check out our quilts, and maybe even take one home.

Can You Believe It?

It is snowing here!! It isn't even Halloween yet. I am not happy about this situation. I sure hope it is gone in the morning!

On to a more pleasant subject, I relisted some aprons today. They have been in my shop for a couple of months, and had slipped to the back, so I wanted to get them front and center again. If you are interested in these, or any of my other items, please visit http://www.originalsbylauren.etsy.com/.

The Fruit Ladies Are Here!!

They're here! The fruit ladies have come to www.originalsbylauren.etsy.com
I just adore this fabric. I don't know about you, but I know what shape I am. We have all heard of apples and pears, but cherries and strawberries? It is so fun that I had a hard time cutting into it.
I decided to make one of my generous sized aprons and a quilted table runner. The apron fits from about a size 12 up through plus sizes, depending on how tight you tie it. It is made for a real cook, someone who eats!
The runner is perfect for any table, and could also be used as a wallhanging. Just let me know if you want a sleeve sewn on the back for hanging.
Just wanted to share.

Zebras Everywhere!

I found these 2 great zebra flannels and had to make a rag quilt . I made it large enough for a toddler bed or a throw. I has a matching 16" pillow cover.

The quilt is made of three layers of flannel for extra warmth and softness. The contrast of the realistic zebras with the more childish zebras makes it very unique.

You could truely buy this for a baby, use it on their toddler bed, and use it as a throw on their twin bed. It will follow a child through many years.

Or why not use it for an adult? It is large enough for a throw.

This is available at my shop http://www.originalsbylauren.etsy.com/ .They are sold seperately. Stop by and take a look around. I listed this today, and it won't be around long.

Bike Trail at the Barge Canal

I just love the folleage in October . We went for a bike ride on the trail along the barge canal this afternoon. The leaves aren't quite at peak yet, but they are so pretty I wanted to take some pictures. The 2 are along the canal, and the other one is a tain trestle along the path.
For those of you who live in areas where the leaves change, you know how beautiful it can be. For those that don't, here is my little gift to you.
I wish October could last alot longer, but I will take what I can get. We are supposed to have warm and sunny weather for the next week.

Cape May

Hello.
We spent last weekend in Cape May, NJ. If you don't know, it is the southernmost tip of NJ, even with southern DE. The entire town is on the historic registry, and the homes are victorian. I have not been there before, and will certainly be returning. It is quaint and lovely, and the weather was great.
They had a street fair that we attended and my husband went fishing with his brother for a day. We all had alot of fun, ate in some great restaurants, but now we are back to reality.
I just wanted to share these photos with you, because it is so nice there.

New Bracelet

I just wanted to share this new bracelet that I made. It is sterling silver solid square wire, and is handformed and soldered by me. I formed the clasp out of the same wire. It is 8.5" (29.5cm) long, and can be amde smaller by removing links.

I like the simplicity of this original design, and I will not make more. It is one of a kind, and suitable for a man or a woman.
